Welcome
It is our pleasure to welcome you to our Church today and hope that you find what you are looking for. We are excited to share our journey with you as we continue to transition into the Church God has called us to be. We are a Church on the move, both inside these walls we call home and the community we serve.
We recently celebrated our 30th Anniversary as a Body of Christ. Three decades of delivering God's love to a diverse world and community. We are proud of this achievement and invite you to be a part of our continuing walk.
Today, as self-aware and self-affirming Gay, Lesbian, and Transgendered people, we reclaim the fullness of our humanity, including our spirituality. We find great truths in the religious tradition, and we find that our encounter with God is transformational and healing. We experience our communities of faith as places of healing and hope, and as places of reconciliation with family.
"Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22: 37-39)
Peace and Welcome,
Rev. Jackie Carter, Pastor, and the Congregation of First Metropolitan Community Church of Kansas (Wichita)
